No, your dog doesn’t need to be a pro at commands to have a great photoshoot! However, knowing a few basics like sit, wait, or stay can make the session smoother and help us capture those perfect moments. You don’t need to worry about perfection—I work quickly, and your dog only needs to hold the position for a second.

If your dog doesn’t know any commands, that’s completely fine too! But if you’d like, this is a great time to work on some basics before the session. Simple commands or attention tricks can help, but the focus will always be on capturing your dog’s true personality.

Not at all! It’s completely fine to keep your dog on leash during the session, especially if they’re not fully reliable off-leash. In fact, for everyone’s safety—including your dog, other dogs, and my expensive equipment—I ask that dogs remain on-leash at all times during the photoshoot.

The great news is that I can easily edit out leashes, collars, and even owners in post-production, so it won’t affect the final images. This way, we can still capture your dog’s natural beauty and personality while keeping them safe and secure.

For the health and safety of your puppy and other dogs, I prefer that puppies have at least had their first vaccination before coming to the studio. This helps ensure they’re protected against common canine illnesses while in a public space.

While I thoroughly clean the studio between each dog to maintain a safe environment, it is important to note that it is not a completely sterile setting. Ultimately, the decision to bring a puppy that is still in the vaccination process is up to you as the owner.
